Somehow I have AOL version 7.0, and 9.0 on my computer.
When I go to add/remove programs and try to uninstall
AOl. it freezes as it is looking for all versions of AOL.
It can not find Any version of AOl. I have an emachines
computer that is 4 yrs old. Windows Xp came installed.
The problem occured because when I was having trouble
with AOL 7.0, AOL told me to download AOL 9.0.. that it
would overwrite version 7.0.. Now AOL can not help,
emachines can not help,, Can you tell me how to uninstall
AOL7.0 ? Thank you

you could go to the program files from your c drive and see
if there are two seperate entries for aohell 7 and aohell 9
..and then delete the aohell 7 folder.
then there is system restore if it is a recent
change..should be a restore point created before aohll 9.

or you can screw AOL and get Comcast Cable. Highly
recommend. Its well worth the money ( 300kb/sec for $40
compared to 40kb/sec for $23)

Sadly, the only practical way I've ever found to completely
remove AOL from an operating system is to format the hard drive and
perform a clean installation. I absolutely loathe having to resort to
a hard drive format to fix what should be a relatively minor issue,
but it takes a lot less time than manually removing/replacing all of
the Windows system files that AOL replaces with their own versions and
the hundreds of unnecessary registry entries.
