Anyone Help Me....

Here's my story.......I was desperate for a decent CD cover creation
program.

I downloaded one called CDR Cover.......etc etc.....Well...It needed a reg
number and in my hour od despair I google for one........up popped a few
offering me a serial no., but it dropped some piece of crap on my pc.

I know i was a bit nieve and stupid......if i run AVG nothing comes
up............but if I run Blueyonder PC guard scan......it farts and dies.

Im sort of stuck here.......I think something is lurking on my machine but I
can remember how to get shot of the bugger.




Any Ideas.......Preferably Constructive and not calling me a total
w*nker.........cos i've called myself that a few times already.

It needed a reg number and ...

It's always a good idea to scan keygens at virustotal.

I think something is lurking on my machine but I
can(t) remember how to get shot of the bugger.

Remove your hard drive and slave it to another system and scan it.

Virus Guy is right, the best way is to remove it and scan it with another
PC, there are several other ways but removing the drive has got to be the
easiest way to do it right.

Or you could build a Bootable XP CD like http://www.ubcd4win.com/
and run the tools on that disk.

If that is not an option try the free rootkit remover from AVG

it has removed rootkits from my clients PC's more than once, then there is

and run the regular standard programs for removal of infection (Adaware and
Spybot),
but by now your probably thinking removing your hard drive to scan it in
another PC sounds easy right? lol
