Firewall & Networking question

hi,

I have a PC and laptop which i have networked (wireless)

I have the fllowing setup

BroadBand Modem wired into wirless router, PC and laptop both connect to
router via wirless
PC has Blueyonder PC Guard Software Firewall & Windows firewall installed
Laptop has Windows Firewall installed

My problem is

Problem 1 -When i have File & Printer sharing unchecked in the exceptions
tab of Windows firewall they are blocked from accessing files on each PC

Problem 2 -When the PC's Blueyonder Guardfirewall is enabled on the PC the
laptop can't access the PC's files

Can anyone tell me if having the file and printer sharing checked to allow
access in Windows is leaving my files open to all on the Internet?

Sine you have a wireless router it will protect your network computer from
inbound "connection" attempts so no you will not expose your FPS to the
internet. Also FYI it is a bad idea to use more than one software/host
firewall on a computer due to complexity of configuration, conflict of
firewall rules, and drain on system resources. Pick one and use it and
disable the other. SP2 generally will disable the Windows Firewall if it
detects another software firewall. The link below is on basic network
connectivity trouble shooting.
