Hello. I posted a question a few days ago, and "awwald"
responded with a question. I answered it, but there was no
followup. What gives?

My question was "I'm trying to connect to my main PC (Win
XP Pro SP 2) here at work via the network using Remote
Connections; however, it gives an error "The connection
was ended because of a network error. Please try
connecting to the remote computer again." I've tried the
IP address as well as its name. I've enabled Remote
Connections and I've set the Windows firewall to allow
remote connections through both on the main PC and the one
that's trying to connect."

awwald asked this: "It seems enabling windows XP firewall
to allow remote connections is not the
only option for successful connections. What is unclear to
me is: Are you
trying to connect over a public network such as over the
internet? Is there
no machine between your Home PC and Work PC acting as a
gateway? If you
answer yes to any of the above, then try consulting your
administrator to
find out if remote desktop connection/protocol was
intsalled and enabled."

My answer was "I'm sitting in the same office, trying to
connect
my notebook to my desktop over our LAN. The desktop can
connect to the notebook, but not the other way around. Any
ideas?"

It seems silly to have to re-post the entire thread to
maybe have someone read it again. Is it that each new
question is read only once and then ignored?

Right Click My Computer on your Notebook, then Click Remote Tab, then
Enable Remote Connections. You're done.Your Desktop should now connect
with your notebook
