antivirus program

Every time I turn off my antivirus prog. to play a game, game wants ALL
background progs. shutdown, I get a flashing message saying that my antivirus
prog. is shutoff! It does not stay on screen long enough to uncheck the two
boxes on it. No help from Norton ( discontinued help for 2004 programs ). Any
suggestions on how to get rid of this annoyance? Thanks

It usually happens with call of duty and call of duty united offensive
although it has occured when no game is being played if the anti virus prog.
is off!

It looks as though this occurs with the manufacturer of the "call of duty" games. I would start there and ask the manufacturer about the problem.
