AntiSpyware won't open after install

Hi there,

Here's the scenario - XP Pro SP2 machine running AVG 7 updated with latest
defs. Loaded with spyware when I got it, cleaned everything manually with
Ad-Aware and other tools. Ran a full system scan with AVG 7 and as of right
now it shows clean in every scan I do.

I tried to install MSAS and it runs through setup fine, but then will not
open. Double-clicking the icon causes the hourglass to pop up for a second
then nothing. I have yet to even see the splash screen to this point.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled with the latest 2/16/05 version from MS.
Cleaned temp files in the user's local settings and under c:\windows\. I've
also deleted the directiory in program files after a uninstall. I also
attempted to install the program to an alternative location such as C:\MSAS.
Still nothing though.

Anyone had this issue to this point? Am I missing something and need to wipe
an entry from the registry? Any help appreciated, and if I missed clarifying
something please let me know. Thanks!

Uninstall again, and disable any additional security utilities during
installation of AntiSpyware.

Uninstalled MSAS and I shut down AVG's control center and stopped both
services associated with it. Attempted to install MSAS but still same issue.
I did clean the temp files and removed the directory before the install. I
also tried to install it in safe mode by using the "net start "windows
installer" command" and by manually starting the service as I saw mentioned
in a previous post, but that service won't run in safe mode for me.

Hmmm I'm stumped!

Well, I guess you just have to wait for beta 2 to see if they made any
changes.
