Hi everyone! I found this Forum after endless pages of not getting anywhere. So, I hope someone can eventually help me. All I wanted to know was how to report a phishing email and I found all of you.Can someone help me please, or tell me where I an get my question answered? I will be eternally grateful. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. The email I received was supposedly from Microsoft refund department, offering me money. So I want to report it to Microsoft. "

How to report a scam

You can use Microsoft tools to report a suspected scam.

Internet Explorer. While you are on a suspicious site, click the Safety button or menu in Internet Explorer 8 and point to SmartScreen Filter. Then click Report Unsafe Website and use the web page that is displayed to report the website.

If like me, you don't use IE, then just tell you email program to mark it as spam and go about your merry way.

Microsoft won't be able to do much anyway.

Not really, they wouldn't care. Best bet would be via your email provider, be it Gmail, Yahoo etc.

Hi Eavesdropper, welcome to PCR.

Probably not necessary in this particular instance... but, for "internet crime" (fraud, financially-motivated scams, etc.,) there is also Action Fraud.
