Animation

I am using PowerPoint 2003
I am trying to animate one of my slides in a presentation. My slide has a
title and an outline type list under the title. I highlighted the thumbnail
slide I wanted to animate. In the task pane I clicked on "fade in and dim".
But nothing happens.
I tried it in "slideview" again nothing is happening. What am I missing?

Some thoughts...
1. Are the title and text in placeholders (not just text boxes)?
2. If you open the custom animation pane can you see animation entries for
title and text?
3. Any chance you have "show without animation" ticked in slide show > set
up show?

What do you mean by "placeholders"?
I am not sure of what you mean for your item #2.
In the task pane - where it lists No Animation twice and then subtle, all 3
of these boxes are colored in blue. This makes me think it is set for "no
animation" but I do not know how to change this back to animation.

Hi

1. If there was a message that said "click to add title" or "click to add
text" they were placeholders. The animation scheme only works for
placeholders.
2. To see the custom animation pane go to the slide show menu and choose
"custom animation" a pane should open with entries for title and text. If its
blank there's something wrong!
3. The first "no animation" and "subtle are headings - they are always blue
and cannot be selected. When you click on "fade in and dim" it should go a
darker blue.

Hope that makes sense
