power point animation problem

i would like to add "fade in and dim" to one slide in my presentation.
After selecting the thumbnail of the particular slide i am selecting the
animation scheme "fade in and dim". But powerpoint is not adding the
animation scheme to the slide,instead that is jumping to "no animation"
scheme.
i tried many times that is automatically slecting "no animation"sheme to
the slide.

Can any one help to fix such funny proble.

I'm guessing that your slide layout does not contain title / text. Fade in
and dim applys animation to the title and the text box and will jump to none
if tey domt exist. If you want eg a picture to fade in use the custom
animation entrance > fade.

Actually my slide has one title "contents" and 8 individual text lines.
There are no pictures in the slide at all.
I want to appear those text lines one by one and fade.
any solution please.
