I can't find it on news.individual.net - despite having refreshed my
newsgroup groups listing this morning.

BTW, neither news.individual.net nor my ISP newsserver (Plusnet) carry
binaries. I suspect that this is typical.

The group appears on my ISP's newsserver (ntl), but as far as I can
tell from a quick glance at the headers, it's filled entirely -- 100% -
- with spam.

I don't think they should be hidden just because not everyone has
access to them. I agree with your later post that the limitations
of a.b.f should be mentioned as well. I'd also add that it's
particularly important to scan files downloaded from Usenet with
good anti-malware scanners.

Someone needs to write these notes. . .

IMO that info should be linked rather than included in the post: see
____ for information about binary downloads.
