Hi!
I just installed Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 on the computer of a relative of
mine running Win XP SP2. I've disabled file download in the internet zone on
this computer in order to achieve higher security (specifically to block
download of executable files). While using Reader 6.0 I was still able to
open PDFs just fine by clicking on a link in IE, with version 7.0 however,
I'm not allowed to download the PDF. I just get the usual message about
security settings not allowing download. So what really determines which
files IE may download when file download is set to disabled in the security
settings? Is it also possible to allow office document files (.doc .xls) to
be opened in IE's integrated view with this setting? I've tried setting
Reader to open in both integrated and non-integrated view, but that didn't
help.
Thanks!
