.pdf files now open instead of asking to be Saved

Ever since I installed Acrobat Reader 6.0.2, .pdf files try to open in IE
instead of prompting me to download them. I have disabled all of the
options in AR that integrate it with your browser. Also went to File Types
and checked "Confirm open after download". No luck. AR is bypassing
"Confirm open after download".

Any suggestions? Thanks for any replies!

Try this:

tools: intenet options/properties:
Click on 'programs' tag and you should see a list of services/applications
for use on the internet(e.g. outlook, netmeeting etc.)

Further down there is a button called 'Manage Add-ons" IClick .
If you see this:" AcroIEHlpr....." click on it and you will see 'enable' or
'disable'
This is the 'helper' for viewing pdf files within IE.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply tenderfoot! It gave me something else to play with.
Yes, I have the AcroIEHelper.dll helper add-on and have tried it both
enabled and disabled. No joy.

Hi,
You might try uninstalling Adobe Reader and getting a fresh download from
Adobe.
