AIM laptop / vista problem

Well i just got a new dell laptop and it has vista on it. I always like to be
logged on to AIM but i find that when i close my laptop or put it to sleep it
just signs me off AIM. When i "wake" up the laptop it will just sign me back
on. Is there a way that i can make it so i'm always signed on?

When you put your laptop to sleep, it cuts off your internet connection,
therefore kicking you off of AIM.

Closing the lid of your laptop also puts it to sleep, however, you can
change it so closing the lid keeps your laptop on, and just turns off the
display, but won't go to sleep.

To change this setting, go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Power
Options -> System Settings

From there, you should see a setting that says "When I close the lid:" and a
drop down menu with these options:

Do Nothing
Sleep
Hibernate
Shut Down

Change the setting to "Do nothing"

You will also have two categories, up top it will have two rows, "Battery"
and "Plugged In".

You will need to change the settings for both of them.

Hope I helped, and it wasn't too confusing =)
