After joining a new domain cannot open applications on local pc

I have an older laptop running office 2000 and working just fine until I joined to a new domain. After joining the new domain and logging back onto it under the local users name, I cannot open any documents, it keeps looking for ms installer on the old domain path (which I do not have access too). I can see the files sitting in "My Documents" put my biggest concern is getting outlook to open so that I can move the contact info. Does anyone know of a way without installing another version of office 2000?

New Domain? Did you change from one domain to another? Not that it really
matters, just a little unclear.

Do you mean you still login under a Local user even though is it joined to a
Domain? Not that it really matters, just a little unclear.

C:\MyDocs, or C:\Docs&Settings\%User%\MyDocs ??? Not that it really matters,
just a little unclear.
Before you do ANYTHING, backup whatever you can't live w/o.

OK, assuming the user profile (where Office worked) is still unmolested in
C:\Docs&Settings, this will probably work. When logged in as admin, go to
SysProps->User Profiles, Copy the user profile onto the Default user.
Delete the new profile you have recently been using (make sure you have no
data to lose). Log back in as the new user, whereupon you will inherit the
correct MSInstaller settings from the DefaultUser folder. That part right
there is the sticky wicket, I believe.
