joining domain problems

Hi!
I have server 2003 runnig on network 192.xxx.xxx.xxx. I also have compters (xp pro, 2000 pro and NT 4.0 workstation) on network 193.xxx.xxx.xxx, there is no server on that network. I try to join these computers to the server 2003 domain.

I was able to join windows NT 4.0 workstation to the domain, but with xp pro and win 2000 there are following porblems:

- When I try to join xp pro to the domain (system properties -->compter name tab --> Change) I get error message: The following error occured attempting to join the domain "domain.com": The remote procedure call failed.

- I'm able to join win 2000 to the domain, but after restarting, I try to log on to the domain, I get error message: The system cannot log you on now because the domain "DOMAIN" is not available.

--I have configured DNS and nslookup works, so does ping.
--I use static IP addresses (not DHCP)

First try to ping server from client computer, if you are able to ping then
only you can join to domain

Do u use router between the two networks 192.x.x.x and 193.x.x.x If not
then you will not at all able to join client form one network to talk to
another network

Why does u need two network addresses?

Place all system and server in same network, promote a server as a domain
controller using DCpromo, and later try to join to domain

- Yes, There is a router between networks..
Why does u need two network addresses?

- because we also test VPN connections between server and clients..
