Endpoint Mapper error when joining a Win XP Pro workstation

I get the following message and have not had much luck finding any results in
the KB. When I try and join a newly imaged machine to my 2000 domain using
either the Domain Administrator or another account that is a member of the
Domain Admins group, I recieve the following error " your coumputer could not
be joined to the domain because the following error has occured: There are
no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper." There is not an error
code listed and I have tried to find that exact phrase int he knowledge base
to no avail. Anyone have a suggestion?

BTW: the workstation is running Win XP Pro SP2 and the Domain Controller is
Win 2K Server SP4.
