I keep getting a message saying the above failed to initialise, the box can
appear up to 50 times and completely locks computer until all have been
closed. I have no idea what this is? I have tried to delete the program
(found in program files) but it wont let me it says its read only, but when I
change it it locks whole pc again and i have to restart. It was modified on
25th december 2004, when I wasnt even here!!
I cant open whatever it is, it says installing, and then locks pc again! any
ideas what it is and how to get rid of it?

Isn't this malware? You need to do a full virus scan.

To deal with issues caused by any sort of "adware" and/or
"spyware,"such as Gator, Comet Cursors, Smiley Central, Xupiter, Bonzai
Buddy, or KaZaA, and their remnants, that you've deliberately (but
without understanding the consequences) installed, two products that
are quite effective (at finding and removing this type of scumware) are
Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de and SpyBot Search & Destroy from
www.safer-networking.org/. Both have free versions. It's even possible
to use SpyBot Search & Destroy to "immunize" your system against most
future intrusions. I use both and generally perform manual scans every
week or so to clean out cookies, etc.
