The link turbo provided is legit. You might want to try accessing that site
from a computer that's not infected.

Here's a link to a site where you can download a program that should help
with your problem.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Clicking on the Download button on that page will provide access to the free
version which is all you need.

Good luck

No laffing matter - and AFAIK, the link to bleeping computer was valid.

For firther information, Google against "Spyware Guard 2008" - which is
a rogue anti-spyware program that uses deceptive advertising methods.

You definitely need to remove it - and if you can't get to bleeping
computer, visit http://www.malwarebytes.org/. Then, download, install
and run the free version of the program.

You could also try Spybot Search & Destroy (from
http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html).

thanks for the help guys i cannot get to any of the sites from the links you
have provided and i have appologised for mistaking help for my problem, the
reason being i couldnt access that site or any of the others and i assumed
with a title like that it seemed odd. any other ideas how i can access any of
those sites as i dont have the use of another pc?

I understand that the Malware is preventing access to various sites that
host removal tools.

As an addendum to my previous post, you might be able to access the
bleeping computer page at
208.43.87.2/malware-removal/remove-spyware-guard-2008 (instead of using
the URL).

Similarly, you might be able to download Malwarebytes from
208.43.120.24/malwarebytes/mbam-setup.exe.

If that doesn't work, I can only suggest you seek help from a friend -
to use a different computer to download the removal tools to a USB
memory pen.

Try downloading MBAM from this site. It may work whereas the MalWareByte's
site might not. (Blocked by the malware on your system)
http://www.download.com/1770-20_4-0...tes+Anti+Malware&tag=404&searchtype=downloads
If you do get it downloaded and it will not install, just change the name of
the executable, example: change mbam-setup.exe to something like
gotcha.exe or 'whatever you want to call it' .exe.
Make sure you click on the MBAM (MalWareByte's Anti-Malware 1.31) link and
not on the top two ones

PS: If it works, install it, update it and run it in Normal Mode (I usually
recommend to delete your Temp Internet Files, Cookies, tmp file and Empty
your Recycled Bin before running the program.
Run it until it finds no other problems.
Then, dl,install, update and run SuperAntiSpyware from its home site and run
it. It seems to do a better job in Safe Mode,
Both of the above programs are free and do not ask for money to remove what
they find.

Danny, reboot your computer and get into "Safe Mode with Networking"(you have
Net access in that mode)
download, install, update ans scan from in there with Malwarebytes and
"Spybot Search & Destroy", AND your Anti-virus.
All info below.

http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html

Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6 is a very good, FREE Anti-Spyware Program.
Download, install, update, and immunize your System with it.
Then SCAN with it.
Update it, and scan your System once a fortnight.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Malwarebytes is as the name says, a Malware Remover!
For the Free version scroll down their page to either download from
Download.com, or Major Geeks.com

Download, install, and update.

Important re: Safe Mode
If you happen to find a problem that you can’t uninstall / delete, reboot
the computer, and go into Safe Mode.
To get into Safe mode, tap F8 right at Power On / Startup, and use UP arrow
key to get to Safe Mode from list of options, then hit ENTER.
RESCAN your computer with your Anti-Virus, Malwarebytes and Spybot S & D
while in Safe Mode.

If unable to install above Programs in Normal Mode:
Sometimes Trojans, Viruses, Malware, etc stop you installing and/or updating
Programs to remove them.
If that happens, reboot into Safe Mode with Networking, and install, update
and scan from there.

We really are looking at desperate solutions, now.

One possibility might be to remove your hard drive - and install it as a
slave drive in a different computer. The host computer MUST be
uninfected, and protected by up to date anti-virus software.

Then, download and install Malwarebytes onto the host computer - and use
the host computer to scan the slave drive. Whilst the slave drive is
still connected, use the host computer to run an anti-virus scan.

If that fails, you will require professional help - and might even need
to reformat your drive and perform a clean reinstallation of the WinXP
operating system and other software.

hi guys just to let you know as i had major problems i ended up having to re
format and do a clean installation. i didnt lose much data so its fine again
hopefully. thanks for all you help.
