Adjusting Audio Properties

G

G Busch

When I try to adjust the bass/treble controls under "open volume control,"
"Advanced" under Master Volume, all I see are the 2 slider controls - and
they are greyed out! Any ideas on getting these operational?

TIA

Your current sound driver doesn't support these properties. Try getting an
updated driver from the manufacturer's website.

Hello!

I'll buy that as an explanation, but there must be some kind of
software that can act act as an intermediary and control the sound
universally for Windows XP, right? After all, the bass/treble
controls in Windows Media Player work as they should, but it doesn't
affect sound coming from other sources. Any suggestions?

FWIW, I've got a overperforming subwoofer I'm trying to compensate
for... :)

Nope--the sound card driver IS the universal control.
WMP simply controls the output before it gets to the driver controls.
Any individual app can modify it's own signal, but none modify the driver
control.
