Add Network Places

I'm having trouble getting through the process of adding some folders
to "My NetWork Places" on two machines using WinXP SP2 (Home edition.)

I have several folders listed in "My NetWork Places." on the two
computers that have the same name on the two machines, except that on
my desktop they have a "(laptop)" suffix and on the laptop, they have a
"(desktop)" suffix. I don't really or remember how those folders got
in there. Those folders are shared on the network.

Whichever computer I happen to be using, I can use Explorer windows to
display the contents of both machines' folders, side-by-side, and can
move files from one to the other.

I would like to add few more folders to this "My Network Places" list.
I figured that using the "Add a Network Place" Wizard is the way to go,
and I've tried that on my desktop but get lost in the process.

Here's how far I've gotten:

In the Wizard's "Add Network Place" Window. I click "Browse" and a
"Browse for Folder" window pops up with a listing that has "Entire
NetWork," at the top, followed by a listing of my existing Network
Places (with the "(lifebook)" appendage.) My choice seems to be to
highlight one of the existing folders and then click on "add a new
folder." (It won't work if I click on "Entire Network.") How do I
know which of the existing folders to highlight, and then what should I
do next?

Could someone guide me through the rest of it?

Many thanks.

If adding folders to my network places is what you want(sharing),It seems
that you have enabled the "file and printer sharing" thats good, just right
click on the folder you want to share and choose "sharing" from the right
click menu, and you can specify the users who can access that file using the
security options,by creating groups.
Hope this Helps you

Gunz,

Thank you.

I have one shared folder that I accidentally deleted from the list in
"My Network Places." I can still share the folder but don't have it
conveniently located in that listing. Would you know how to get the
folder listed inn the "My Network Places again?
