I have a Lexmark X5150 printer/scanner/copier that I installed say almost a
year ago, which i have had no problems with. Then suddenly the other day i
went to print something and it my computer said you must have a printer
installed to perform this action. So i went to my Printers & Fax tab in the
control panel and it didnt have my Lexmark printer icon there anymore. I
have no idea how it was removed. So i figured id just install it again by
hitting Add a Printer but when i do that an error window pops up that says
"Operation could not be completed". So then i tried to install the printer
straight from the Lexmark CD-ROM disc. When I hit install, a message pops up
saying that setup has detected that the spooler service is stopped and must
be started in order to complete installation. Click Yes to Start it then
continue or No to exit. Well I hit yes and the installation just ends
anyways. So then i went to my admin tools to services and went to the Print
Spooler service and clicked start and an error window pops up saying "Could
not start the Printer Spooler service on Local Computer. Error 1068: The
dependency service or group failed to start. I made sure the sevice was on
Automatic startup so i restarted my computer, all the same problems.
