Installed Win XP two weeks ago...saw an alert at that
time to activate windows. Opted to wait till later until
I was sure what it meant...now that I know, can't find
activation wizard in Start/programs/accessories/system
tools where it's supposed to be. After turning on
computer, it automatically started installing windows xp
& basically I had to do nothing except fill in a few
blanks...Could windows have automatically activated
itself & if yes, how can I verify this? I don't want my
computer to become inoperable after 30 days if it hasn't
been activated. Been all thru the MS info, database &
troubleshooting and found nothing to tell me how to
verify if my win XP has actually been activated. Thanks

Hello Tena,
Open the event log viewer
Look at the application event log.
Look for Windows Product Activation Events.
If the product was successfully activated there should be a Windows Product
Activation Event ID 1006 which should state that it was successful in
activating.
Thanks,

*sheds tears of joy!* Thank you so much Darrell! It was
driving me bonkers...found the event log right where you
indicated...what happened to the good old days when you
did everything manually?...lol. Thanks again for your
help!
