activation by phone - numbers are not working

Hi, I'm trying to activate XP by phone - I don't have internet hooked
up on one of my new XP machines yet. My 30 days are up on one
machine(had to RMA a bad powersupply on it and and now I'm out of time
after giving up and going buying a new powersupply today), but the
phone numbers given for activation are not working.

I've looked on the MS website and googled the groups but can't find
info on any
other way to activate if I'm not hooked up to internet. The numbers I
show to use are

888-571-2048 or
716-871-2929

I've tried both from where I'm at over the past hour or so - area code
615 (nashville) but can't get the call to go through. I'm wanting to
install some new stuff I got today (wireless router, new video card)
but gotta get activated first. Any ideas appreciated, or if there are
alternate number???

Set the date on your computer back. install the wireless router. Connect to
the internet. Register your software and then reset the date to the correct
date.

according to Microsoft, a tollfree phone number should be displayed on
your computer when you want to activate it.
I guess it's not a public number
