Hello Everyone,

I'm currently using Windows XP Home Edition, and there is a problem when i access the network resource. i.e. share folder.
Basically, my problem is i have to input the username and password every time.

i know there is a method to solve this issue in Windows XP PRO edition. which you can simply create the a network account by typing the following command:

Start - Run - control userpasswords2 - create new account

but this function is not available in windows xp home version, is there any other ways to solve this problem?

Many thanks

You haven't told us whether the network resource is on a domain or not.
XP Home cannot join a domain but can use domain resources by doing
exactly what you are doing - entering the name/password of a user who
has an account on the domain server.

If this is a home network and you are trying to access a resource on the
XP box, you have a choice:

a. If you need Pro's ability to set fine-grained permissions, turn off
Simple File Sharing (Folder Options>View tab) and create identical user
accounts/passwords on all computers.

b. If you don't care about using Pro's advanced features, leave the
Simple File Sharing enabled.

Simple File Sharing means that Guest (network) is enabled. This means
that anyone without a user account on the target system can use its
resources. This is a security hole but only you can decide if it
matters in your situation.
