I loaded XP on my pc with supposedly all priviledges as
the administrator. I have come across a virus that is in
a directory "C:\System Volume Information\" to which I
have no access.

Question:
How do I set XP to allow full access as the administrator.
This virus cannot be deleted, quarantined or anything by
McAfee.

Please help. (e-mail address removed)

You can't get access to it and you don't need it. System Volume Information
is the file store location for System Restore. The way to resolve this
issue is to turn off System Restore, reboot and turn it back on. Open
Control Panel, open System, go to the System Restore tab, place a check next
to "Turn off System Restore on all drives," click apply and ok, reboot,
return to the same area, remove that check, click apply and ok and that
should rid the system of anything infected in that area.
