Access is denied(more info)

Hello,
I need some help.

A short time ago, my computer was hit by a virus. It has 2 hard disks; a WD
40GB and a WD 120GB. The 40GB was C and the 120GB was D.
I had to format the C [40GB] and when it was all restored, I noted the C was
the 120GB, and the D was 40GB. Oh well…

The files on the 120GB were all saved, but when I try to access SOME of them
I get access denied. I tried changing the owner to administrator, but still
can’t access them.

My disk has 70GB open.
I’m running XP Pro SP2 and all the updates.
These files, in this one and only one directory, were viewable before, but
now, when I try to open one, I get the message:
‘No Preview Available’

If I try to copy I get:
“Cannot copy IMG_0735:Access is denied
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected
And that the file is not currently in useâ€

This happens only in one directory called “photosâ€.
I think it may have to do with file compression, or permissions.

Can anyone help?

If C: is now on D:,then on installation of xp you had both hds connected &
running. You should manually disconnect the "slave,or storage hd",reinstall
xp,
by default C: should be on youre main hd as all installations are set this
way.
