Hidden partition is accessible but not visible in explorer

I have an IBM ;hard disk 40GB with C: visible and D: (invisible) as
the recovery software partition.
As my HDD was full, I cloned it to a 120GB disk .
I grew the partition D using Seagate Discwizard to include all the
free space...done..no problem..Software in D: remained intact.
I went to Bios and disabled recovery partition access ..which
technically should allow me to use this disk as any other storage
device.
From My Computers---Manage----Disk Management; I can view and click on
D:\ and freely access the drive.
However the disk still does not show up in Windows Explorer ?
Please help anyone if you can !!

You need to select the space and allocate a drive letter, have you done
that. Or perhaps you need to format the partition in disk management. (if I
understand what you have done that is)

XP cannot designate a drive letter for a hidden partition. A partition is
not a disk. What is your end intention?

XP Computer Management is showing it as IBM Servic (E:)..FAT32 ( as D:
is my CD - ROM) .
It is accessible with a click from here. E: is also accessible at the
Command prompt within XP.
End intention is to use this drive as a storage drive.
I am already using this as a storage disk...have made a shortcut to
desktop and using it currently.
My only problem is that it is not showing as E: in windows
explorer...which is very irritating. Like...If i open Office
documents ..I cannot browse to this drive...or when i install new
software...same problem.....
Thanks for any help....
