Access denied!!!!

I have messed up this os! I can't install programs without getting this:
"error installing program,...access denied"
This is on a few types of program installations so it's covering the entire
os.

Help?

AMD 2200
Gigabyte 7n400 Pro2
XP home edition

Are you sure you are in an administrator account? Make sure you account
hasn't accidentally been set as a limited account. Go to Control Panel,
open User Accounts, in the displayed accounts, it will tell if the account
is administrator or limited. You need to be in an Administrator account in
order to install applications.
