Access Access Denied

My old OS (XP 2005) got corrupted giving this message 'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG corrupted, ... select r to repair'. I try to repair it but all my effort proved abortive. I then install another OS (XP 2005) on the same partition in order to get access to my files , but I found out that I can't access my old document folder . Each time I try to open it I always get this error 'ACCESS DENIED' Please help me to retrieve my documents.

Try a Live Linux CD, like Kanotix or Puppy, they might just might allow you to access the folders.
