Access database error

I created a database in Microsoft Access 2002 and it
appears some users may have corrupted it. I am getting
the following error when trying to open it: The database
is in an unexpected state; Microsoft access can't open
it. This database has been converted from a prior version
of access by using the DAO Compact database method instead
of the convert database command on the tools menu
(atatbase utilities submenu). This has left the database
in a partially converted state. If you have the database
in its original format ( I do but cant do anything with
it) use the convert database command on the tools menu to
convert it. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED - DO
NOT WANT TO RE-CREATE****

This is a sign of corruption. I hope you have a backup somewhere.
Also have you split the MDB into a FE/BE?

For more information on corruption including possible causes,
determining the offending PC, retrieving your data, links, official MS
KB articles and a list of vendors who state they can fix corruption
see the Microsoft Access Corruption FAQ at

See the "Splitting your app into a front end and back end Tips" page
at http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/splitapp/ See the Auto FE Updater
downloads page http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/autofe.htm to make this
relatively painless.. It also supports Terminal Server/Citrix quite
nicely.
