Database is in an unexpected state

Hello

I have a problem with my database when I went to tool to compact and
repair. the information pop up that the database is in unexpected state. I
need to know what i need to do fix the problem.
this is the information that popped up:

This database is in an unexpected state: Microsoft office access can’t open
it.

This database has been converted from a prior version of Microsoft Office
access by using the DAO CompactDatabase method instead of the convert
Database command on the Tools menu (Database Utilities submenu). This has
left the database in a partially converted state.

If you have a copy of the database in it original format, use the convert
database command on the tools menu (Database Utilities submenu) to convert
it. If the original database is no longer available, create a new database in
import your tables and queries to preserve your data. Your other database
objects can’t be recovered.

I do not have a copy of the database and we used this database for four
years. I need help to fix this problem.

Have you tried to decompile it then recompile it? Make a copy first of
course as this is an undocumented feature of Access.

msaccess.exe /decompile "C:\Copy of YourDB.mdb"

I'm not really sure which version of Access you should try this with, hence
the testing on a copy!

use SQL Server, MDB is not reliable enough for real world use

MDB takes too much effort and performance mother ****ing sucks

use SQL Server and spit on anyone using MDB for anything

You do this from a command prompt, but if it won't decompile there are other
tools available, most you have to purchase

Hi Bessie,

This sounds like Error 2573:

Ouch. Your only alternative may be to seek paid assistance in recoving your
database. Do not do anything else to this file, because the more you attempt
to recover it, the less likely that a professional will be able to help you.

This page on Tony's site: http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm
includes the following:

When all else fails - MDB repair companies
PK Solutions Home Page Rebuilds corrupted databases usually within 24 hours.
When you need him you really need him. A large number of folks in the
newsgroups have stated that they were very happy with his services.
Access Emergency (some useful general info) / Access Datenrettung
Access Repair Center 24 Germany
Data Revive
Action Front Data Recovery Labs
