I could actually *pull the plug* on Windows and test to my hearts content.

My plan:
Switch main IDE cable from disk Win98 to disk 3 and install Mandrake 10.1.
Play a week or two.
Wipe and install SuSE and play again. Same with Mandrake 2006.0.
Then decide.

Those drive holders that slide into a frame in the bay and make your
drives removable (and include a drive fan) are pretty neat for about five
bucks or less each. I have three of 'em. You could pull:)

I'm holding the drive and tray that slides into the rack in the second
bay, top slid back to show drive (in use it would be closed):
