Don't do it? I would suggest that if you are running Win98 on a machine,
that machine was designed for Win98 not WinXP. You will likely be better off
reformating and reloading Win98.
Sony may have installed proprietary software on the laptop, check with them
for any compatibility issues with upgrading to XP.
