4870 emails and counting

I downloaded sp2 after backing up my system. Then I checked my email after
the new sp2 was running and ended up with 4870 emails and counting. The
emails seem to be spawning. But only certain ones (newsletters and one email
with a friends name on it). Everytime I go and delete those particular
emails, they come back over and over again. It's impossible for me to try to
find the good emails and save them to another folder because of the spawning
(?). Even when I go offline and delete them all, they come right back as soon
as I go online again. I never had this problem before I loaded sp2 on my pc.
I tried to go to numerous restore points only to have my computer basically
tell me it couldn't restore. It doesn't make sense. I've uninstalled sp2 but
still have the email problems. My antivirus program is completely up to date
and I've run spybot but nothing comes up to say my email program or emails
have a virus. What is going on? I'd uninstall my email program but I'm not
sure it will do anything once I reinstall it and get online again. Earthlink
says they can't help me. Someone out there please give me some advice. I
really need to check my real emails. Another thing I did was go to the actual
earthlink webmail and block the particulat emails that appear to keep coming
back and keep spawning. I'm at a loss and am wasting my time now. Please give
me some input if you have any experience with this. I'm desperate.

Relax!

Go to

www.mail2web.com (faster)

or

https://webmail.pas.earthlink.net

Login using your e-mail address and password, and clean your mailbox (keep
in mind that you’ll be manipulating your mail directly on Earthlink mail
server – if you delete something, it’s GONE).

If it doesn’t help, you may want to consider another mail client. I use the
one that came with Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org/), and it IS very good.

Good Luck!
