2 Dynamic Web Template, The second removes the First

I am trying to attach two dynamic web temples into my page
The problems begins when I attach the second template, I'm prompted to select which regions from old page will receive regions from new page. I accept the defaults and my first dwt is gone and the second dwt displays fine. I have tried modifying the old and new regions in just about every way possible and yet both dwts won’t display on my page
I must be doing something wrong; well I guess I haven’t tried every way possible since I’m obviously not doing it the correct way
Please, any ideas on how to correctly attach two dwt into a page

You can only apply one DWT to a single page.
