Frequently when I boot up Windows XP I find 100% cpu usage makes the system
almost unusable.
Systemidle never shows anything but 0%
System (not otherwise identified) absorbs all cpu availablility with
momentary spans to other processes or programs trying to open.
I notice that inernet explorer grabs a few milliseconds even though it has
not been opened.
To cure the problem, I shut off power and restart using the on off switch.
Sometimes I have to do this a couple times.
Then suddenly, I get a normal startup and everything runs normally with
Systemidle proces having plenty of cpu to pass around.
I have 1 gigabyte memory and plenty of file space. I run maintenance
utilities regularly and also run AdSubtract frequently clearing spyware.
Anyone have similar problem.
