windows update site

I have noticed on my computer that windowsupdate goes to
v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com on any updates, I am
running XP home version.

On other computers I have been doing updates for computer
that I am on,it goes to v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Why the difference ???????

What you are seeing on all the computers is normal.
Microsoft has been slowly changing Windows XP to V5.
Soon V5 will be the only option for Windows XP.
You can skip the wait and update a computer to V5 simply by typing
"v5" where "v4" is currently.
