Windows Messenger won't open at all

I recently upgraded from Windows Messenger 4.7 to version
5. It seemed to work right after I downloaded the new
version, but ever since then I can't open it. There's no
icon in the task bar, and when I try to open it from my
program list, I get an hourglass for a second and then
nothing happens. The Windows Messenger window never even
opens. I wouldn't really care because I prefer MSN
Messenger 6 anyway, but I think it's screwing up other
programs like OE. On my event viewer system log, I get
the following error messages:

Event ID 7023: The COM+ Event System service terminated
with the following error:
The specified module could not be found.

Event ID 10000: Unable to start a DCOM Server: {FB7199AB-
79BF-11D2-8D94-0000F875C541}. The error:
"The system cannot find the file specified. "
Happened while starting this command:
-Embedding

Event ID 10010: The server {1BE1F766-5536-11D1-B726-
00C04FB926AF} did not register with DCOM within the
required timeout.

I checked services under administrative tools and checked
COM+ Event System. It said that it was stopped, and when
I tried to start it I got the following error message:

Could not start the COM+ Event System Service on Local
Computer.
Error 126: the specified module could not be found.

If anybody is still reading this, I would really
appreciate any help.

Thanks!
