How can I thoroughly uninstall Windows Messenger?

I found some information in microsoft.com , they told us the use the
registry editor , add some key values to disable the Windows Messenger,
however it causes outlook express to run slowly...

And I also find some information in googles, their method is to type some
"words" in "Run" to uninstall Messenger, but I still find some errors in the
event viewer:

Unable to start a DCOM Server: {FB7199AB-79BF-11D2-8D94-0000F875C541}. The
error:
"The system cannot find the path specified. "
Happened while starting this command:
"C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" -Embedding

When I click the link : http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp, the
information is useless to me....
What is the problems ... and how can i solve it?

is this windows messenger service and not instant messenger
,,then start,control panal,performance and
maintenence,,admin tools,services. stop messenger from startup.
and run a firewall to stop messenger popups.without
deactivating it.

Hi,

This is the behavior in OE, once Messenger has been disabled/uninstalled.
Easy fix:

Disable/Remove Windows Messenger
