That's pretty close to what the shills in this group have been telling
people who run into driver problems with Vista: don't blame Microsoft,
blame the hardware vendor for not providing a driver. Why is Ubuntu held
to a different standard when it lacks built-in support for an oddball
video card?

It’s not. Let me try to break it down.
1. Vista needs new drivers. WinFolk know this and when someone has a driver
problem they are simply told they need to wait. No big deal. If the user
finds that inexcusable then TUFF, they should have researched first. Most
people find that acceptable. WinFolk do not make bold claims that Vista
will run on everything.
2. I haven't come across a single post where a windows user was told to buy
new hardware when their current hardware was good enough but was missing a
driver. Did you find one?
3. LinFolks like to claim their hardware will run on everything and anything
of any age. When someone comes across a piece of hardware that doesn't work
they are told to replace it! Not wait for a driver, REPLACE THE HARDWARE
even though that hardware should be good enough (especially for linux).
What I find hilarious is that when a windows user tells someone to wait for
a fix they are "reamed a new" one yet it's perfectly ok for a linux user to
tell someone to downgrade their linux install and then WAIT for the next
version for more compatibility. That's exactly what happened with my
8800GTX video card.
