Why Windows F@cking BLOWS CHUNKS!

What a piece of crap. Good thing I installed a new HDD rather than
overwrite my Linux installation

Hardware: ASRock 939 Dual SATA MB
AMD 4000+ 64 Bit CPU
Diamond MM S120 ATi 9550 based Video

Tried to load WIN2K since I wanted a Windows setup for a primary rather
than Linux. Loaded all the files, then during the hardware 'discovery' I
get the blue screen with an NTOSKERNL.EXE error. Tried 4-5 times to check
the settings and boot, reset the clock speed <2.4GHz, yada yada yada. No
Go.

Then loaded XP. Failed to copy file...failed to copy file...failed to copy
file...

Finally got most things to copy (PARPORT.SYS and MODEM.SYS didn't load).
FINALLY got the system to start, went to complete the
installation...reboot...reboot...reboot...reboot...

All system settings are at their minimums, I went to SAFE mode and it gets
to MUP.SYS...reboot...reboot...reboot...reboot...

Piece of crap. Why was I able to install it ONCE with no problems, and
never again? Does the same thing on my IBM Thinkpad 600E...gets to the
same point and reboot...reboot...reboot...

Piece of sh!t...

Not only is your cross-posting really stupid, but you post in linux groups
where you post has no relevance and doesn't belong. I hope your ISP checks
it's abuse e-mails out.

So long...

Only if you post to more then 6 groups...

And of course it has relevancy in Linux groups..how do you think I got on?

I'm lost as to how you decided that the OS is responsible for your hardware
problems.

You pretty much proved this yourself when you had similar issues in 2 OS
versions.

My guess is you have bad RAM, or corruption issues on the SATA controller.

No OS is immune to hardware issues or, for that matter, user error.

Yep, I've run across the same thing on several occasions. During a
Windows install it would fail to copy some file...skip....can't copy
another file...can't skip...restart install.

This time, it goes right thru the files it couldn't copy before, but
fails on others.

Remove 1 of 3 sticks of RAM.....installs fine.

I have no problem with three different versions of Linux.

And, I finally got it to load on the fifth reload.

Was getting a CRC error on SMS something or other.

Happened the last two times I tried to load XP on two different machines.

Any commentary forewarding the hasty departure of windows (and MS) off
this planet and out of our lives is as welcome as a warm summer breeze
(and a pint of real ice cream) (and some peeled grapes).

The ONLY reason this 98SE pig I have is useable at all is because it was
installed VIA 98Lite Pro installer, a NON MS program, which scraped an
unreal amount of MS garbage out of the install path. It's holding
together till I get PCLOS going well enough on an upcoming box.

I sure would not waste any time DEPENDING on windows now that Linux has
come of age.

I started to go with OS/2 for my win replacement but they began to die.
Very sad because os/2 is what win always wanted to be. Even now
unsupported by IBM it's still in many companies and single user boxes.

Anyway, time for Linux.

Score 1 for Linux. And hundreds of millions for Windows.

Go rant somewhere else.

Yea,right. and I have an old compaq laptop that W2Kpro(retail version)
installs just fine,no other drivers needed, but I haven't found a
version of Linux that will install with no trouble.

Let me ask you a question.
Why is it that when you COLA-nutz, Lino-tards are using or speaking
about Linux, you can intellectualize quite nicely but the minute you
begin to work on a Windows computer you all of a sudden become
a blind, retarded idiot with no understanding of computers at all.

Which are you feigning?
Your knowledge of Linux or your total stupidity regarding computers?

Brand new disk, installed once and then returned to it's holder...

Odd, installed W2K/W2K Server, XP, Server 2003 on many different hardware
platforms and problems were rare. But I wouldn't chalk my install problems
up to a global Windows blows chunks because it really doesn't. Windows can
be and is useful in some cases. I keep it around for A/V work since linux
doesn't support the proprietary hardware I use for I/O. And I don't expect
it to for very logical and understandable reasons.

The exact opposite is detectable in the posts of windows enthusiasts in
Linux groups, they can do all kinds of things in windows, but they can't
even get 3d acceleration on their graphics cards under Linux.

Basicly, very few people actually understand computers, they simply know
ways of getting the computer to do what they want. In other words, they
have experience.

When you make that experience obsolete, such as when you change the
operating system, you make those people practically useless until they
gain new experience.

As has been said many times, Linux is neither better nor worse than
windows, it's just different.
Which are you feigning?
Your knowledge of Linux or your total stupidity regarding computers?
My guess is neither, see above.

They must have had a sale on Kool-aid....favorite drink of the Linux bunch.
