Unable to reinstall IE on XP Prof Sp2

L

Leythos

I have tried the various solutions from the MS site and have failed to
find a way to reinstall IE 6. The current problem is that IE fails to
load the Windows Update Page (nothing at all) and I can't do a print
preview in IE and see anything, and clicking SEARCH in explorer brings
up the nice dogie, but there there are no search text boxes or anything
else.

This machine was working fine with all updates until about 1 week ago.
We have two machines doing the same thing, but can't tie it to anything.
The other machines (same units) are working fine in all manners.

I have tried the following:

http://www.theeldergeek.com/repair_reinstall_ie_and_oe_6.htm

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFAQ.htm#Reinstall
rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf
\ie.inf

The above attempt seems to try and reinstall, but can't fine iebw.exe (I
think that's the file name) and I can't find it on any computer.

Any help is appreciated.
