Why can't I delete a message from my Inbox, and at the sametime, I can't
forward a message from delete folder for Outbox? I don't subscribe to any
strange stuff, and it's a new Gateway note book, and have a trial version of
MCCafee virus, which I don't think, I really want it or need it? Any helpful
suggestions? Daredoc

McAfee antivirus programs can cause that problem. To prevent causing
it again, uninstall, not just disable, the McAfee program. Norton antivirus
programs can cause the same problem, so don't use them as a replacement.
Someone should tell you about good replacement antivirus programs and
the Microsoft fix for the problem.

pane and trying again, ALT E, Y but to no avail. I would appreciate

You didn't say what you tried.

Download and install this fix, with Windows Mail not running, if you haven't
tried it already:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for messages stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or the
64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first.

Also, what if any antivirus programs do you have? Some of the common ones,
such as most of those from Norton or McAfee, and a recent one from Trend,
keep causing problems in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately.

This Microsoft fix will do the trick:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090
"Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a
computer that is running Windows Vista"

That page offers two download options. Unless you know for sure
you have 64-bit Vista, use the 32-bit option.

Although only 'Outbox' is mentioned, it will enable removal of stuck
emails from any folder.

I don't know, but there's a fix for stuck messages. Download and install
it with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for messages stuck in the Outbox, it also works
in other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or
the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first. If you have certain
common antivirus programs such as most of those from Norton or
McAfee, or a recent one from Trend, the problem is likely to come
back, although not immediately, so remember to try the same fix
again.

1. 5728 was a beta version quite some time ago.

2. So you get an error message?

3. Did you try my suggestion above?

4. Did you install this update?
Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer
that is running Windows Vista
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090
It also works on other folders.

I have downloaded this WMUtil and fixed my problem about 4 months ago and
today I have to do the repair again!! Do I just Run the Util app from my
desktop? Or do I have to uninstall that and start over again?? Anyone know?
I prefer not to "blow up" pre holiday and hopeful that Microsoft blesses us
with a fix for Christmas. Appreciate anyone's help.

Now, it's recommended that you download and install this fix instead, with
Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

They've finished testing it. Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in
the
Outbox, it also works in other folders. If you don't know whether to use
the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first.
Certain common antivirus programs, such as most of those from Norton
or McAfee, tend to cause this problem, although not immediately, so if
you have one of them, you should remember where to find the fix since
you are likely to need it again.

I turned off the Preview Pane and it still didn't work. This must be a
"glitch" with Vista. Any suggestions?
