Save image as BMP problem not fixed yet?

Does Microsoft have a better fix? The bug has been around for more than a
year. As files build up in the offline cache, eventually when you try to
save an image from the web, you cannot save it as JPG or GIF, for example.
The only choice is BMP. The current workaround that I'm aware of is to
delete all offline files, then restart the browser.

The usual fix is to clear your cache.
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

That seems to work about 98% of the time but if it doesn't, close IE
and reopen and do it again. Also it has been reported that clear
cookies helps, but ensure you save any that you need.

If the above fails, then try here:

I've had this problem also, here is the help by Carey which fixed my
problem:
ps. running CLEANMGR.EXE usually helps.

It's time to perform some house cleaning chores:

Go to Start > Run and type: CLEANMGR.EXE , and hit enter.
This will start your disk cleanup utility. Make sure to cleanup
your Temporary Internet Files.
