Saving web images & graphics defaulting to bmp format!

Misschiff

I have Photoshop installed on my computer (6.0 i think)
and not sure when this started happening because i dont
often save web graphics...however, i noticed that all
graphics, regardless of their format (gif, jpg etc) are
not being saved a such.

When I click on save picture as, it defaults to bmp or
unspecified. If i save an animated gif, it is saved as a
bmp file and the animation becomes static. Something is
very wrong here. What may have caused this problem and
how can i fix it?

Thx

The usual fix is to clear your cache.
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

That seems to work about 98% of the time but if it doesn't, close IE
and reopen and do it again. Also it has been reported that clear
cookies helps, but ensure you save any that you need.

Cool, that worked!
Thanks very much (clearing cache was sufficient)
