run command missing

My xp home sp2 is missing the shut down and run command from the start menu,
the shut down disappeared first, then app. 1 mth later the run command went
awol ! HELP!!! thanks, Todd

I have pc-cillin 06, and update regulary, it shows no virus's. I have ran

PC-Cillin is an antivirus. It will not deal with non-viral malware and
probably not with some trojans either. You need to really establish
that this machine is clean and you haven't done this. Go through the
steps listed at the link I gave you systematically. Include scanning
with Multi_AV and Ewido (see site for information).

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).

I did as suggested, an the comp. came up clean! Something I had forgot to
mention, is that when I change user( sons screen) it comes up fine, with run
command and shut down on start menu. so whatever is causing this is only
effecting the administrator. ( mainly me! LOL ) thanks again for any and all
advise, Todd

Did you try Ayush's advice?

Other than that, I really don't have any ideas for you. It is unusual
that these items would disappear all by themselves. Could someone in
your household be playing a trick on you?

yes, I tried Ayush's advise, but, did'nt want to spend 29.95 on a guess at
it..LOL, and nope, no one here smart enough for playing those kind of tricks!
its just strang that its even happening. the comp. works fine other then
those two commands missing! aaaargh, its driving me nuts!!! LOL I'm not even
sure how to make them disappear! but, thank you for your time and help, Todd
Hey, at least I got two good anti-spyware programs

Malke, Just had to let ya know! I went back and rechecked Ayushs comment and
I had looked in the wrong area of the page I was sent to. Anyway, all I did
was delete mswservice.exe. and now its all back ! Again thank you both for
your help, Todd
