If I was thinking of buying a Lexus, I might go onto the Lexus forum, and
ask people for some advice and opinions. If someone told me about some
problems with the new model I was interested in, I would then go and
investigate what they had said. If it turned out that due to these problems,
I decided I would be better off buying a different model, or even brand of
car then I would be grateful to that person for drawing my attention to
those issues...

Prudent for you, maybe not so for others. That is why people were given
a mind to think with. It enables them to make their OWN choice after
studying the options.

And one of the options is to wait until the drivers are ready and the
bugs are ironed out.
I don't think that your incessant downing of Vista (seems kind self
serving on your part, to those who read your comments) is going to
change many peoples minds about Vista.

Fortunately, it matters little what you think.
Remember, the vast majority of
the people who come here "ALREADY HAVE IT".

Sure, you took a poll? No, you're making it up as you go along once again.
So, you are just blowing in the wind, no matter what you may say. People
are not going to scrap what they have done and return the operating
system just because Ali ASS has told them to.

My posts are directed at the people who are prudent enough to come here
and see if Vista has any problems before purchasing it. If you don't
like it, kill file me so you don't have to experience so many hissy fits
when you read my reasonable posts.

question for those that don't use Vista and have no plans to install it

What are you doing in a Vista group to begin with???

Most of us here have installed Vista, either recently or have been using
Beta and/or RTM versions . . . and we're here either looking for, or
giving, help with problems, so why waste your time, our time and
bandwidth with "Vista blows" or whatever posts?

If you're sticking with XP, great, I have 2 other machines that are
going to stay with XP simply because I see no reason to upgrade them
just yet, but my day-to-day machine has Vista, and has had it since the
RTM version came out as its only OS, removed XP from the boot-menu after
a week of running RTM since I never booted XP after installing Vista RTM.

Hell, if you're running DOS with the DOSSHELL and it works for you,
WONDERFUL! At my previous job we had a computer running DOS and Lotus
1-2-3 to track inventory and in-house charge accounts, worked just fine,
and backups were so simple! (Just copied the floppy that everything was
running on to another floppy every day)

Point is, what IS the point of bashing something you don't use, or
touting advice about aforementioned 'something' when you weren't asked
for said advice, and shouldn't be GIVING said advice since you don't
have first hand knowledge of said 'something'?

Pointless . . . that would be like going into a Lexus forum and telling

False premise. Not everyone that comes here already has Vista. Some are
thinking about getting it and my advice is to wait. Your advice is not
to wait. It's up to the reader to decide which advice to follow.

Not too smart neither .. hmm.

Look, let me spell it out for you: if you and Alias dislike Windows, use
something else. There are plenty of operating systems out there. And you
live in a free country. If your job is in a Windows shop, get another job.
No one is twisting your arm to use Windows.

But don't waste everyone's time with your hostility and needless bickering

First insult. Being as you didn't quote to whom you were replying,
Nina's question is valid if you're smart enough to figure it out.
Look, let me spell it out for you: if you and Alias dislike Windows,

Wrong. I like Windows and use XP every single day. What I don't like are
the so-called anti piracy controls that do nothing to stop piracy and
only inconvenience the paying customer. I also advise to wait on Vista
because it's the *smart* thing to do.

What are you doing in a Vista group to begin with???

Because this group is not for the sole purpose of blowing roses up MS's
arse.
Most of us here have installed Vista, either recently or have been using
Beta and/or RTM versions . . . and we're here either looking for, or
giving, help with problems, so why waste your time, our time and
bandwidth with "Vista blows" or whatever posts?

Who says none of us have? I have a technet plus subscription through
work, and I have been checking Vista out. And even if some aren't, that
is no prerequisite to posting here.

Point is, what IS the point of bashing something you don't use, or
touting advice about aforementioned 'something' when you weren't asked
for said advice, and shouldn't be GIVING said advice since you don't
have first hand knowledge of said 'something'?

ANYONE can use it without having to install it here:
http://www.windowsvistatestdrive.com/

How do you know they haven't tried that?
Pointless . . . that would be like going into a Lexus forum and telling
everyone not to buy a new model Lexus because the old one works just
fine, and the new one has some bugs because it's a new design. Yes, you
would be correct, but you know what? People in a Lexus forum/newsgroup

a Lexus and want to talk to others about it, and maybe ask for some help
if they need it, or give help if someone asks and they know the answer .
. .

Maybe those people in the "Lexus" forum should attain enough self
control to at least plonk the posts/posters they don't want to see?
Okay, I'm done feeding the Trolls for the day . . .
