Please avoid Vista like the plague

Got it free too, didn't you?

Way too late. I already have it and am liking it tremendously!

Peddle your trash elsewhere.

It's my understanding that there aren't any products (movies, etc) out using
the DRM built into Vista yet. How would you feel later if you bought a
video from sony (or whomever) and then couldn't play it on your computer
because it didn't have the DRM technology built in. Would you bash MS for
not having it then? You can complain about DRM all you want. No media
company is going to give up on stuff like DRM.

No, not here. Vista, if anything, has boosted performance on machines around
here.

Me too. I wasn't expecting to like it so much.

I do check my spam box and very occasionally there is a false

this one is more perfect than others. lol
Thunderbird was just absolute trash. Its a shame because I wanted to
use it on Linux but it was just a no-go.

Ok, -how much- spam do you actually get? Are the subject lines clear
enough to flag, or are the senders address (or originating server)
rather constant? Are the message bodies carrying constant?

Does it catch the newer spammer stactics like using entire images where
the text is part of the image, or spams with always changing variations
of words like "viiagra", "v|agra", "\/iaggra", etc?

If you are getting "lighter spam", then thats one thing, heavier spam is
a whole 'nother breed, and is better dealt with at the server side of
things (well, any spam is, but this type even more so.)

It doesn't mean we have to be =forced= to have it. Vista basically
trying to cram the DRM mess down our throats. The obvious alternative is
to simply not go to Vista.

This is the advice from someone who has NO hands on experience with VISTA.
And uses outdated hearsay as some sort of fact.

How do you know he doesn't have any experience with Vista? Making
assumptions like this doesn't help your case. He actually happens to be
correct on a great many things.

One doesn't have to have Vista in order to know it's better off buired
deep in the ground. Maybe you should listen to what knowledgeable people
abroad have been saying about Vista and how it should be avoided, and
get your head out of you ass.

Personal attacks will get you nowhere.

And someone who has never used Vista, has a skunner against Microsoft, and
lives in Spain is somehow knowledgeable about Vista in your opinion?

Again, one does not have to jump off a ten story building to know that
it isn't a good idea. You have no idea how much I have researched Vista
but you sure think you do. (And you're wrong).

has a skunner against Microsoft,

Not really. I eventually will buy Vista.
and lives in Spain

How would living in a particular country make me less informed?

is somehow knowledgeable about Vista in your opinion?
Saucy Lemon

Of course and knowledgeable enough to know that it would be prudent to
wait for Vista's SP1 or SP2.

Reading a post or two off COLA isn't "research", Alias, sorry to burst your
bubble.

Lots of assumptions there. If there is a big net at the bottom and
you are a stunt person getting paid $100 an hour to do it, then it's a
great idea.
