Other Network property sheets are already open

When attempting to change properties for an ethernet
adaptor, W2K flatters me as follows: "The controls on this
property sheet are diabled because one or more other
Network property sheets are already open. To use these
controls, close all these property sheets and then reopen
this one."

And of course no other connections exist, let alone have a
Network property sheet open.

I have found no info on such a problem in the Knowledge
Base or elsewhere.

Please help!
