[I still don't get what happens with that piece called
"Karaoke Everything". It is very unique and I download it
and no call home behaviors I found at all, it is also
listed in snapfiles, somehow someone report spyware on
it.... What a pity...you know how hard to find Karoke
program that would do mp3 and other file formats :-( ]
I assume you mean Karaokeanything

http://www.karaokeanything.com/

Doesn't call home; the site says no adware/spyware and the
latest reference file for adaware reports nothing...

Looks OK to me

Exactly...but someone shouted that spybot/adaware found stuff
in there.

Spybot clean
Adaware clean
No ads
Not crippled
Doesn't phone home. (hmmm... probably; it won't run properly on this
machine and It won't install on the kids machine. i will try it on the
XP machine later)

It certainly looks clean though; and if I can get the bloody thing
running it looks to be something I want.

Bugger. It has frozen two XP machines at the install stage.

Ah well...

|I notice you don't say the same about the other kinds of your posts I
|mentioned, adware and spyware. Do you mean to imply that you have
|knowingly posted those?

Opps seems my snip slipped a little. Never knowingly posted Spyware.
Adware... yes I have.

Added to my sig :)
Non of the site per se are *mirror* or *official* to me,
though, they are all good in my eyes. Thank you everybody.

I think we're talking about two different things RL. Dszady has created
a mirror site here:

http://www.earths-ocular.com/mirror/www.pricelesswarehome.org/

Dszady has been through the process - he or I can answer questions if
anyone else has an interest in creating a mirror of the
pricelesswarehome.org site.

Was a bit disappointed with the pea-green/blue format of the site.
Not sure why/how this color combination caught on but it's tiresome
IMO.

Anyhow ... on the 'LINKS' page there is mention of OptOut by Steve
Gibson. The proper URL would be http://grc.com/oo/program.htm but
from the top of _that_ page you find:

Our trusty program did its job,
but now it's time to move on...
by Steve Gibson, Gibson Research Corporation

Looking for OptOut is a dead end. :-\

Thank you REM - and Susan :) Only visiting though. In "lurk mode" for
the time being. Tied up elsewhere, in a new job - leaving little or
no time for acf or looking at new freeware now. Will return a more
active participant - I hope - when things have settled down a bit.

All the best,
